Learning from Reality

Much has been said about human bonds but no matter where you come from and where you go to there is a universal feeling of pain and suffering when you are confronted with a natural disaster and its consequences.

We went to Japan not to rebuild Iwate but to see how these people face such suffering with a submissive but firm attitude. Furthermore, we went to Japan to share our ideas and experiences.

Japan, thousands of km. from Argentina was something we could not picture in our minds. I guess the same happened to our fellow teachers attending the Forum.

South America, Argentina. Were they able to imagine, to picture in their minds the way we thought and felt?

For us it was moving and exciting at the same time.

Our experiences in devastated areas were moving but to experience international fellowship was exciting.

I think that when you have a situation you feel one way but when remembrances come back a melancholic wave sweeps our minds.

We feel we have been very fortunate to have the opportunity for sharing experiences, goals and projects with many interesting people.

Let us hope that this Forum and all the others to come may let us learn from reality.

I am a former student at Ward and after many years of working as a psychologist with a private practice. I was called to teach psychology and be the High School psychologist. Cambridge International Examinations’ counseling at Ward’s High School is also one of my fields of work. I’m currently developing the Global Perspectives issue with my students and we’re very excited to explore it among youngsters from different countries, whom we hope to meet in Morioka. I am very happy about being at Ward. What I love most is to say that I have spent all my life at Ward.
